New Torrino-Mezzocammino Station
The project involves the construction from scratch of the “Torrino-Mezzocammino” railway station along the Rome-Lido railway line, covering a total area of approximately 4,000 m². The works include the station building, the external entrance forecourt, and the upgrading of the existing road network and car park, with particular attention to accessibility, fire safety, and regulatory compliance.
The new station consists of two buildings, located alongside the tracks towards Rome and Ostia and connected by an overpass approximately 6.60 m above rail level. The detailed design and Safety Coordination during the Design Phase (CSP) integrated the architectural, structural, building services, and infrastructure disciplines. The design development was preceded by urban planning, environmental, acoustic, and geotechnical studies, as well as survey campaigns carried out using laser scanning and drones.
The project was developed entirely by the Techproject team in a BIM environment, with the involvement of BIM Managers, BIM Coordinators, and BIM Specialists from the various disciplines. The building services design includes electrical distribution and LED lighting, fire detection and EVAC systems, intrusion detection, CCTV, data networks, ticketing and passenger information systems, UPS systems, and a rooftop photovoltaic system comprising 53 modules, designed to reduce the energy consumption of the train station.
