After fourteen years of waiting, the project for the new pediatric center of excellence in Palermo has reached a major turning point: the tender was awarded by Invitalia on behalf of the Sicilian Region.

We are proud to announce that Techproject, as the lead agent for the designated designers (Sistema Duemila Partners Srl, Onleco Srl, and Domenico Spanò) of the temporary consortium led by Matarrese SpA, has been awarded the joint contract, which will include the detailed design and construction work.

With an estimated investment of approximately €170 million, this operation marks the concrete launch of a strategic project for the island.

The new facility, to be built near the Cervello Hospital, will occupy an area of ​​over 45,000 m² and will feature 134 beds, including 10 in intensive care, 14 specialized wards, 4 operating rooms, and a hybrid room, as well as laboratories, outpatient clinics, a helipad, refreshment areas, and green spaces.

The new Pediatric Center will be a facility capable of combining care, research, and innovation, placing the community at its center and providing a concrete sign of the Region’s commitment to modern, efficient, and citizen-friendly healthcare.
